The 17th Jeju International Brass and Percussion Competition was held from 9th to 16th August 2022 in Jeju island, South Korea. The competition over the past 2 years have only been conducted through video screening due to the COVID-19. At this year's competition111 artists from 11 countries performed in the disciplines Euphonium(43), Bass Trombone(20), Tuba(20) and Percussion(28) .

Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival Organizing Committee, organizer of Jeju International Brass Competition, became a member of WFIMC since 2009, which is held in August every year. In the even years, bass trombone, euphonium, tuba and percussion are contested. In odd years, trumpet, horn, tenor trombone, and brass quintet sections take place. In addition, the Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival will be open at the same period as the Jeju International Wind Ensemble Competition, including various programs such as the wind ensemble, the professional wind ensemble, and varied wind musical performances.

2,600 from 19 countries were coming to Jeju to make the 2022 festival and the Awards Ceremony and Winner's Concert of the competition was the last stage of this festival on 16th Aug. The Jury and Competitors attended the Independence Day parade on 15th Aug and mingled with the citizens and other festival players.

Awards in all disciplines are 8,000USD for the 1st Prize, 6,000USD and 4,000USD for the 2nd prize and 3rd prize, respectively. The 1st prize winner of Percussion and Bass Trombone took the instruments for the special prize sponsored by Adams and Yamaha. All 1st prize winners will be back to Jeju again to perform the winners concerts this autumn.
